MTV Game The Music Throwback Party Quiz Board

For Ages: 14+

Number of Players: 4+

Switch to an adult and teen music party game filled with the major tunes of the ’80s, ’90s, and ’00s. It is time for an explosion from the past, built especially for the MTV generation.

The game’s goal is to be the first team in the eight MTV Challenge categories to earn at least one Artist Card: award-winning videos Pop Anthems, Headbangers, Teenage Angst, Hip Hop Hips, MTV Queens, Across the Pond, the best of Unplugged.

Each side selects a player to represent them in the fast-fire buzzer. Both players sit opposite each other in the center of the table and place the buzzer. Flip over a Head Card to discover a category of songs. When one person thinks of a song that answers the card, they shout, strike the buzzer, and set the timer off.

The other player is remaining with 15 seconds to consider a new category song. When they have one, they yell, press the buzzer, reset the timer. The other player is in the hot seat now. Players keep shouting songs in turn until they can’t think of the correct answer and are running out of time—the winner benefits from the Artist Round. The player winning the Buzzer Round draws nine. They choose three to hold the remaining six from the Buzzer Round to their opponent. This player also chooses to retain the rest discreetly.

Both players are placing their three cards face down on their game board in their three category squares. Then they have 30 seconds to devise all three artists in three ways by describing them.

Whenever they guess right, turn over the Artist Card. When a crew flips across all three cards and still has time to save, they can attempt to steal the Artist Cards of the opposing team by correctly describing them.

When the time elapses, they add to their collection all the Artist Cards that they won. Now it’s the turn of the other team. The performer gets 30 seconds to contact his team to guess all of the rest of the Artist Cards.

After then, choose two new participants in the Buzzer Round head-to-head and start the performance once more! The first team with an Artist Card from all 8 categories to participate in the Buzzer Round wins.
